The Australian Government has imposed prohibitions on all air cargo that has arisen from Bangladesh. This came into force on the 19th Dec 2015 and will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
This applies to air-cargo only, sea freight is not affected. The ban includes airfreight that transits through another country unless it is cleared through customs in that country. The Australian Government has put together the following industry guidance document that gives more details.
We anticipate that this will significantly impact a number of Australian companies that are sourcing product from Bangladesh, particularly in their product development activities.
